The Brazilian superstar is the hot favourite to be awarded the prize in Paris this Sunday following a stunning past 12 months, in which he was instrumental in leading the Rossoneri to Champions League glory.
Kaka has purportedly beaten Manchester United’s wing-wizard Cristiano Ronaldo, who is named in second place after winning the English Premiership, finishing a runner-up in the FA Cup and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Argentine prodigy Lionel Messi takes third prize after some sizzling displays for Barcelona, while Chelsea striker Didier Drogba finishes in fourth after hitting 33 goals in all competitions last season.
Milan playmaker Andrea Pirlo, who was also a key factor in the Rossoneri’s European success in Athens last May, completes the top five.
La Gazzetta does not reveal who is in sixth or seventh place, but it does claim that Arsenal wonderkid Cesc Fabregas finished eighth, Real Madrid’s Robinho ninth, and Thierry Henry in 10th.

Meanwhile, France Football have revealed the list of the final ten candidates in the race for this year's Ballon d'Or award.
The list contains bost Francesco Totti and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - left out of the list of nominees for the FIFA Player of the Year.
Real Madrid and Milan have two candidates each, while Manchester United, Roma, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter and Chelsea contribute one each.
